Outdoor Flying -Queen Elizabeth Park

How to get there:-
From South – traveling on State Highway 1, 3km North of Paekakariki, turn off at Mackays crossing, signposted to Queen Elizabeth  Park.  Turn left, cross the railway lines and enter the park. Follow the road through almost to the beach. Look for a turnoff right across the tram tracks. The tramway crossing is 1.5km from the gate. Look for the ‘Beware of Trams’ sign at tramway post #51..

From North – travelling on State Highway 1, 5km South of Paraparaumu, turn off at MacKays crossing signposted to Queen Elizabeth Park.  Pass under the main road, cross the railway lines and enter QE Park.  Proceed as above.

The strip is open to flying any day that the conditions allow, and the park is open. The park is open all year round, although hours vary between winter and summer.

The mown airstrip is 150m long with a 50m safety zone at each end. It is 30m wide.
